Half-Naked Man Chooses 'Better Sex' Over Officer's Question

This is a roundup of recent court news from notable Burnsville cases.

• pleaded guilty to indecent exposure on Sept. 15. In December of 2010, officers from the Burnsville Police Department encountered Aamoth sitting half-naked in his car, which was parked in a "very visible" part of the parking lot at Burnsville Center during the pre-Christmas rush.

When asked why he wasn't wearing any pants, Aamoth ignored the question and cued up a movie —“Better Sex for a Lifetime”— on the DVD player on the car's passenger's side seat. 

The Arden Hills man is a repeat offender, with five previous convictions of indecent exposure since 1991. Aamoth will be sentenced on Nov. 17.

•  has pleaded guilty to threatening his father during an incident in July. Initially the Burnsville man intended to fight the charges. On Aug. 22, he pleaded not guilty to felony domestic assault, terroristic threats, and criminal sexual conduct in the fifth-degree.

On Tuesday, however, Anderson changed course, pleading guilty to terroristic threats. The other charges were dismissed.

He will be sentenced on Nov. 29.

• A Minneapolis man accused of a brutally assaulting a Burnsville woman is disputing the charges. , 20, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him on Oct. 3. A settlement conference is scheduled for Nov. 9. If the defense and prosecution do not come to an agreement that day, the case will proceed to a jury trial on Nov. 29.

• , 21, pleaded guilty to theft on Sept. 26. In exchange, a robbery charge was dismissed. In early September, the Circle Pines man was arrested after he robbed a gas station on West Burnsville Parkway. The clerk at the counter told police that Waterhouse-Grear asked her for change then reached across the counter and grabbed $295 before fleeing the scene. Judge Jerome Abrams sentenced him to 32 months in the prison at St. Cloud, with credit for 31 days already served. Waterhouse-Grear was also ordered to pay restitution.

Waterhouse-Grear was convicted of first-degree aggravated robbery in 2008, as well as two counts of theft dating to 2009 and 2010, respectively.

•  pleaded not guilty to a series charges centered on identity and swindle on Sept. 26. In February of 2012, January is up for a settlement conference. If no agreement is reached, the case will go before the court for a jury trial on  March 12, 2012.
