A roundup of the latests developments from notable cases.

• A Brooklyn Park man accused of biting a woman during a domestic assault will be spending summers in jail until 2021. On Aug. 17, , 37, pleaded guilty to felony domestic assault and violation of a no contact order. Judge Patrice Sutherland sentenced him to one year and a day in the Dakota County Jail, plus 30 additional days of confinement per year until 2021. After his initial confinement, Grabow the must do report to the jail on Aug. 1 to serve an annual month-long stint. 

He will also be ordered to pay restitution, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and seek domestic abuse counseling. He is prohibited from any contact with victim. 

Grabow is no stranger to the Dakota County Court System. He has been charged with assault seven times since 1992.

• A man who poured bleach over a woman's head will be sentenced in October. pleaded guilty to terroristic threats on Aug. 15. In exchange, the prosecuting attorney agreed to dismiss two additional charges — third-degree assault and domestic assault. Howell will be sentenced on Oct. 11.

• has been released. The 22-year-old Apple Valley man faces multiple charges after he allegedly shot and killed a friend by accident. Dahl is charged with felony manslaughter, discharging a dangerous weapon within city limits (a felony), intentionally pointing a gun at another person (a misdemeanor) and recklessly handling a firearm, also a misdemeanor.

An omnibus hearing scheduled for Aug. 15 was rescheduled to Nov. 21, at which point Dahl has the option of entering a plea. 

• On Aug. 9, pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats, a felony. In exchange, the Dakota County Attorney's Office dismissed an additional charge of third-degree assault. Kogo initially pleaded not guilty.

Judge Erica MacDonald sentenced Kogo to 364 days for repeatedly punching his roommate and threatening his life, but stayed most of the sentence for two years. As of now, Kogo will only face 27 days in jail. If he successfully completes two years of probation he will forego the rest of his sentence. He was also ordered to pay restitution and undergo chemical dependency evaluation.

• pleaded guilty to felony theft on July 11. The Cottage Grove woman with charged with theft and credit-card fraud after authorities say she stole items from a Burnsville home, pawned them and used the owner’s Discover card. The fraud charge was dismissed. Dufour will be sentenced on Sept. 20.
