According to the criminal complaint, police were called to Bergh’s Burnsville home on Sunday by her son, who told police that his mother had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend and charged her as if she intended to assault her.

The victim said that when he restrained his mother from assaulting his girlfriend, she began scratching and choking him. His girlfriend gave a similar version of what happened.

Police said the victim suffered red scratch marks on his left arm, below his right eye and inside his cheek.

Bergh told police that she was upset with her son and his friends for having a party at her home, and said she had restrained her son because of his “foul language.”

Bergh was convicted in 2002 of malicious punishment of a child, and in 2008 of domestic assault.
