Burnsville Home Damaged By Night Blaze

Authorities are still assessing the damage wrought by the fire, which broke out around 2:00 a.m. Thursday night.

A fire tore through a Burnsville family's garage during the wee hours of Thursday night.

According to a report from KARE 11, the blaze started in a home on the 13500 block of Nicollet Lane. Fire crews arrived at about 2:00 a.m. to find the garage enveloped in flames. The fire spread soon spread to the main portion of the house. The house is believed to be salvageable, though the garage is in ruins.

Officials say no one was harmed. All six of the occupants made it out unscathed.

Assistant Fire Chief Dan Hove reported that the garage and its contents were destroyed. The fire damaged the adjacent house and two cars. All in all, the damage has been valued at $39,000.

It is believed that the fire originated in the garage, though the precise cause remains under investigation.
