Another Burnsville Woman Charged With Prostitution in Minneapolis

Kanesha Renae Anderson, 21, agreed to perform a sexual act on an undercover police officer on April 19

Burnsville native Kanesha Renae Anderson, 21, on April 19 was arrested in Minneapolis on charges of prostitution in a public place.

According to a complaint filed against her by Hennepin County assistant city attorney Lois Regnier Conroy, Anderson was approached by a plain clothes police officer driving an unmarked police car at the corner of 14th Avenue South and Lake Street East.

The officer pulled the car over and Anderson reportedly got in the vehicle. During the conversation Anderson agreed to perform a sexual act on the undercover officer for money.

At the time of the agreement both Anderson and the officer were over the age of 18 and located in a public place. 

The charge is classified as a gross misdemeanor and carries with it a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a minimum fine of $1,500.

The charges against Anderson represent the second Burnsville woman to be charged with prostitution in Minneapolis in less than a month.  in a public place on March 31. 

Anderson was convicted of misdemeanor fifth-degree assault in Stearns County (Minn.) on March 30, 2008. She was also convicted of misdemeanor shoplifting in Dakota County (Minn.) on Jan. 22, 2009.

Anderson's prior convictions are unrelated to the current charge against her.
