Obituary: Elizabeth Anne Lore Kensinger, 62

Burnsville resident Elizabeth Anne Lore Kensinger, age 62, passed away on May 30, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Burnsville resident Elizabeth Anne Lore Kensinger, age 62, passed away on May 30, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Elizabeth grew up in Baudette, MN. She graduated from Baudette High School with the Class of 1967 and then headed to the Twin Cities.

She began her college education at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, but trained for her lifelong career at Control Data Institute in Minneapolis. Her training made her a sought-after business analyst who held positions at CDC, Burlington Northern, and finally at Wells Fargo Bank.

After marrying Steve Kensinger the young couple moved first to Hopkins, then Burnsville, where they raised their children. The couple also has ties to McLeod, ND (home of the Kensinger clan). In 1998 Steve and Liz bought a ranch next to his father's property, where they trained horses.

In 2003 Liz was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and given a year to live. But she perservered and lived to hold six grandchildren in her arms. 

She is preceded in death by her infant grandson, Frederick.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; children: Dan (Elisa), David (Erika), and Krista (Jeffry) Karels. Beloved grandchildren: Josie, Danny, Varrah, Avari, David, Kaleesi, and one expected in October; Sister, Christin Lore Weber (John Sack); also by other loving relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Freeman Cemetery in McLeod, ND.
