Obituary: Eileen Ann Wagner, 89

December 20, 1922 - August 30, 2012

Eileen Ann Wagner, of Apple Valley, died on Aug. 30, 2012 at the age of 89.

She was born Eileen Ann Beckius on Dec. 20, 1922 in Jordan, MN. Before retiring in 1985, Wagner was a school cook at Westview Elementary School in Apple Valley, a job she held for 20 years. 

She was a member of in Burnsville, the Apple Valley Garden Club, and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Prior Lake. She had a passion for cooking and menu planning, but she also enjoyed golfing, gardening, crafts, and feeding the many birds she adopted in her backyard.

"She especially loved spending time with her family. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be deeply, deeply missed," Wagner's family wrote. "We want to express our appreciation to all of those who supported her in her final days, but especially to the medical and nursing staffs at in Burnsville and Augustana Healthcare Center in Apple Valley."

She is preceded in death by husband, Nick J. Wagner; parents, Alex and Catherine (Wermerskirchen) Beckius; brother, Virgil (Pearl); sisters, Angela Sames (Gerald), Hilaria Sheehan (William); brother-in-law, Don Muelken; and son-in-law, Dennis Factor.

She is survived by daughter Barbara A. (Dennis) Factor of New Prague; sons, Nick M. (Gina) of Apple Valley and Gary N. (Nancy) of Plymouth; sister, Jean Muelken, of Richfield; and by grandchildren, Angela Factor, Joe (Sarah) Factor, Jamey (Katie) Wagner, Jill (Marcus) Hubers, and Jon (Jessica) Wagner and Kari N. Wagner; great-grandchildren, Marisa and Aavionna Le, Ashley, Maren and Ryan Wagner, Laney (Wagner) Hubers, Julia and Jon Wagner.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at noon at Mary, Mother of the Church. Visitation is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at White Funeral Home in Apple Valley and one hour prior to mass at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s and St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery at Shakopee.
