Celebration Church Co-Founder Lowell Lundstrom Dies: Reverend Lowell Lundstrom, co-founder of Lakeville's Celebration Church, died July 20 after a battle with Parkinsons Disease. His death comes just seven months after his wife Connie's.

: Alesha Katherine Roehl, a 17-year-old Burnsville girl, passed away Aug. 21, as a result of life-threatening injuries she suffered during a car accident.

• AUGUST 27, 2012

: Frederick Alexander, 16, died on Aug. 21, 2012 at the scene of a rollover accident on Interstate 35W.

• NOVEMBER 1, 2012

Popular Personal Trainer Dies at Age 35: Steven Michael Toms, 35, a well-known trainer at Lifetime Fitness, died on Oct. 30.

• NOVEMBER 25, 2012

: Walter Kloepping Klaus, 100, was State House Representative for Dakota County from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s.

Wife of Ames Construction Exec Dies at 71: Karen L. Ames died on Nov. 26, surrounded by family.

• DECEMBER 4, 2012

: Abigaile Grace Christenson, beloved daughter of Lucas and Kristina Christenson (maiden name Severson), passed peacefully on Nov. 26, 2012, after entering the world at 23 weeks and 1 day of gestation.

• DECEMBER 16, 2012

South Metro Woman Dies After 25-year Battle with Cancer: Jennifer M. Sheffel finally succumbed on Dec. 12, 2012 after years of staving off an illness which had dogged her since her early 20s.

Burnsville's 'First Police Chief' Dies at 74: Kenneth Alan Day, Sr. was a native of Burnsville and a central figure in a long-standing controversy. For over 10 years, Day contended that he was appointed police chief on Nov. 20, 1962, which would make him the first in the city's history, but the City of Burnsville and Mayor Elizabeth Kautz maintain that Ed Farrell was the city's first police chief. The police department's history page dates its formation to 1964
