Week in Review: A New Coach, A New Pub and Plenty of Crime

A weekly rundown of the stories that readers deemed most interesting over the past seven days

Last week we covered the most recent work of , a from the fire department, recognition for Burnsville's and high school , , and .

But the Week in Review is about what most peaked the interest of the public. And with that, the list is limited to just the top five.

Longtime Northfield High School strength and conditioning coach Scott Sahli will take over as Burnsville High School’s strength and conditioning coordinator at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

Sahli, who led NHS to its seventh consecutive Olympics-style weightlifting state championship this year and was named the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Coach of the Year in February, will be tasked with organizing strength training programs for Burnsville’s athletic department as well as setting up an Olympic-Style weightlifting program for the Blaze.

Burnsville's finest dealt with everything from warrants and barking dogs to death and a suspected missing person.

An Eagan man has been charged with sexually assaulting two teenage girls with whom he lived in Eagan, Burnsville, Lakeville and other cities. Arthur Kelly Estrada, 41, faces two felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one felony count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is currently in custody in the Dakota County Jail in Hastings in lieu of a $250,000 bond.

Burnsville's newest member of the business community is hoping to set the standard in the city for family-style, from-scratch cuisine. A new gastropub set to open its doors on May 2, Morgan's on Nicollet has built its food and drink menu around fresh ingredients and carefully selected craft beer, wine and whiskey.

A Burnsville woman was charged with domestic assault in connection with an April 27 incident in which she is accused of hurling a drinking glass at her ex-boyfriend’s head and cutting him seriously enough to send him to the hospital.

Kristina Shea Peterson, 34, is also charged with violating a domestic abuse no-contact order and contempt of court. Peterson also has a history of domestic violence and DWI stretching back to 2000.
