• Spelling Bees for Kids: Show off your spelling chops at the library. Kids who have finished grades 2 and 3 will compete first, followed by those fresh out of grades 4 and 5. Prizes for all spellers. Ages: 7-12. The bee takes place at the Meeting Room in Lakeville's Heritage Library. Event starts at 10:30 a.m.

• Bill the Juggler: Laughter abounds at this comedy juggling program filled with audience participation and an emphasis on reading. Ages: All ages. The performance begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Meeting Room in the .

• Dick Hanson Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament: The 18th annual Dick Hanson Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament—named in honor of —will be held June 25 at The Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake. The tournament is the only fund-raiser for the Scholarship Fund, which benefits students and teachers at seven south-metro high schools, including Burnsville High School. The program provides scholarships to students who wish to pursue teaching careers, as well as to current teachers who want to continue their education through post-graduate programs. • Steampunk Mystery Mayhem—An Interactive Mystery: Use your brainpower to solve mysterious happenings and dastardly deeds at the library. Presented by the Minnesota Historical Society. • Business Young Professionals Mixer:  is hosting this month's Business Young Professionals socializing and summer fun event. Free to attend, guests are welcome. Event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Burnsville City Council Worksession: The council will discuss the annual audit and the 5-Year Financial Plan. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Council's Chambers at City Hall.

• Club Book presents Isabel Wilkerson: Meet Pulitzer Prize winning author and journalist Isabel Wilkerson, author of The Warmth of Other Suns, a New York Times “Top 10 Best Book of the Year.” Event begins at 7 p.m. at the Galaxie Library in Apple Valley.

Wednesday

• Snapdragon Seeds: Be creative with upbeat, educational music for kids that inspires practical ways to solve problems. Ages: All ages. Event begins 10:30 a.m. at the .

• The Devon Worley Band:The Wednesday in the Park Concert Series, sponsored by ISD 191 Community Education and the City of Burnsville is back for its 35th year. Concerts are scheduled to be held outdoors at the Civic Center Amphitheater with a rain location at Nicollet Jr. High. Please bring a non-perishable food item donation to exchange for a Pepsi-product soft drink. Concert is free. It runs from 7 p.m. to  9 p.m. at Civic Center Park.

• Sticks and Tones: Noon performances at are back! These performances will run throughout the summer and are geared toward preschool-aged audiences. Grab the kids and come down to the park for a rockin’ good time! Prior to Rockin’ Lunch Hour Concert, Rahn Principal Elaine Mehdizadehwill read to kids for 20 minutes. Sponsored by Independent School District 191 and City of Burnsville. Concert and reading will run from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Symposium National Dance Competition: Dancers compete in the 31st Annual National Finals for awards and cash prizes. The competition will run at the from June 29 to July 1.
