• Spelling Bees for Kids: Show off your spelling chops at the library. Kids who have finished grades 2 and 3 will compete first, followed by those fresh out of grades 4 and 5. • Dick Hanson Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament: The 18th annual Dick Hanson Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament—named in honor of —will be held June 25 at The Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake. The tournament is the only fund-raiser for the Scholarship Fund, which benefits students and teachers at seven south-metro high schools, including Burnsville High School. The program provides scholarships to students who wish to pursue teaching careers, as well as to current teachers who want to continue their education through post-graduate programs. • The Devon Worley Band:The Wednesday in the Park Concert Series, sponsored by ISD 191 Community Education and the City of Burnsville is back for its 35th year. Concerts are scheduled to be held outdoors at the Civic Center Amphitheater with a rain location at Nicollet Jr. High. Please bring a non-perishable food item donation to exchange for a Pepsi-product soft drink. Concert is free. It runs from 7 p.m. to  9 p.m. at Civic Center Park.

Grab the kids and come down to the park for a rockin’ good time! Prior to Rockin’ Lunch Hour Concert, Rahn Principal Elaine Mehdizadehwill read to kids for 20 minutes. Sponsored by Independent School District 191 and City of Burnsville. Concert and reading will run from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.
