Severe Thunderstorm on the Way
The National Weather Service has issued a warning for Dakota County as a violent storm approaches.
At 8:00 p.m. the National Weather Service advised Burnsville residents to take cover immediately due to an oncoming thunderstorm capable of producing hail and damaging winds over 70 miles per hour.
"This is a dangerous situation. If you are in the path of this storm prepare immediately for destructive winds which can uproot trees, down power lines, and cause damage to roofs and windows," the warning read. "Evacuate mobile homes as they may be overturned."
The warning extends through south central Minnesota, including Dakota County, Rice County and others. The warning is in effect until 9:00 p.m.
