Finally: Snow Forecast for This Weekend

The Twin Cities may see it's first significant accumulation of snow this weekend, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

Really? There is the mention of snow in the forecast?

If you believe the most current weather forecast for this weekend, the Twin Cities metro area—including Burnsville—finally could see the first measurable snow of this winter season.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service are calling for a 40 percent chance of snow on Friday evening, with a reduced chance overnight. The probability picks up again on Saturday with a 40 percent chance of snow again. On Sunday, the weather service is also calling for a slight chance of snow.

High temperatures throughout the weekend are expected to be in the low- to mid-30s, according to NWS forecasters. The weather service is currently predicting several inches of accumulation over the weekend, with the heaviest snowfall occurring Saturday night into Sunday.

Considering that Saturday is still a few days off, the forecast could change. But as we get closer to the weekend, forecasters say the probability of measurable snow is growing.
