This article from Patch newcomer Shawn Hogendorf details the season opener of the Minnesota Vixen, the nation's longest continuously-running women's tackle football team. The Vixen battled their arch rival Iowa Crush at Burnsville High School on Saturday.

This article details the July 2010 arrest of Burnsville native Brent Paul Selge, 33, and his subsequent conviction on charges stemming from a domestic dispute. Selge was convicted by  a Dakota County jury on Friday and is scheduled to be sentenced on June 15.

This article from SW Minneapolis Patch editor Jon Collins covers the plight of Burnsville native Dorothy Ann Leon, 21, and her Thursday arrest for prostitution in a public place. Leon operated out of a storefront in the 4300 block of Nicollet Avenue and advertised her services in local print media and on Facebook.
