Wannabe Restaurateurs to Battle it Out for Spot in Burnsville Center

The Food Network's "Food Court Wars" has a pair of hopefuls competing for a place at the shopping center, according to reports.

Burnsville Center's food court stands to get a new tenant soon thanks to the Food Network's "Food Court Wars" reality show.

According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, the contest will pit Slum Dogz, which sells Indian-flavored hot dogs, against Pimento Jamaican Kitchen.

For those not familiar with the realty show, City Pages breaks down the plot:

"Food Court Wars
pits two teams against each other in the fight for a one-year, rent-free spot at the mall food court where they're competing. Contestants have two days to come up with menus and plans to market their goods to shoppers before their final test: a whole day of sales during mall hours. The team that earns the most money gets to set up shop in the mall right away."

The episode will air at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 on Food Network.
