Renaissance Festival to Hold Auditions Beginning May 12

Got an act fit for a king? Auditions will be held at the HUGE Improve Theatre in Minneapolis, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 19, and 26.

Calling all Burnsville troubadours, jesters, knights and ladies: The Minnesota Renaissance Festival has announced audition times for the 2012 season. The auditions will be held at the HUGE Improve Theatre in Minneapolis, from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 19, and 26. 

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is casting for musicians, ensembles, street performers, dancers, stage combat performers and actors of all ages. Participants need not have performance experience. Participants interested in becoming a costumed street performer/character will be interviewed, and if accepted, will be invited to participate in the Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performance Workshop, and will learn the craft of interactive street performance.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival's 42nd season begins on Saturday, Aug. 18 and ends September 30. The Festival is open weekends, Labor Day and a special day for schools and seniors on Festival Friday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., rain or shine. The Festival is located three miles south of Shakopee on Hwy 169.
