REMINDER: Bus Route Changes Take Effect Saturday

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority altered its routes because of the launch of the new Metro Red Line bus rapid transit service.

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority is changing several routes in conjunction with the opening of the Metro Red Line bus rapid transit service.

Two main Burnsville routes will be affected by the changes when they take effect Saturday:

  • Route 420: The route will connect to the Metro Red Line at the Apple Valley Transit Station. The service area and stops have been revised. During peak times, buses will run in a fixed direction—north in the morning and south in the evening. Many buses will continue as Route 442 to provide a one-seat ride between Rosemount and Burnsville.
  • Route 442: The route will connect to the Metro Red Line at the Apple Valley Transit Station. Route 440 and the Metro Red Line will replace Route 442 service north of the transit station. Buses will travel on Evergreen Drive, between County Road 11 and Portland Avenue. Route 442 will operate on County Road 42 instead of Whitney Drive. Many buses will continue as Route 420 to provide a one-seat ride between Rosemount and Burnsville.
