Nestle Yanks Nesquik from the Shelves Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination, Issues Massive Recall

To head off a Salmonella scare, Nestle is recalling over 200,000 canisters of the chocolate drink mix, Nesquik.

So far there have been no reported illnesses resulting from contaminated Nesquik. According to CNNMoney, the affected batches were produced in October. Nestle has attributed the possible Salmonella contamination to one of its suppliers, Omya Inc. 

Consumers are advised to check the bottom of the canister. Affected prodicts have a "best use" date of October 2014. The recall applies to canisters affected sized 40.7 ounces, 21.8 ounces, and 10.9 ounces. It is also believed that Salmonella contamination may be found in two smaller containers, which are branded with a cross-promotion for the current Disney movie "Wreck-It Ralph."
