Bloomington Sikh Temple to Hold Vigil for Victims of Wisconsin Shooting

The public is invited to come to Gurdwara Sahib, the Sikh temple across the river, to show solidarity for the victims of Wade Michael Page, a known white supremacist who killed six people after he opened fire on a Wisconsin Sikh temple this week.

Minnesota Sikhs have invited the public to a public vigil for those lost in the Aug. 5 shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, WI that left six dead and three critically injured.

That day known white supremacist Wade Michael Page stormed the temple and opened fire on worshippers before turning the gun on himself. In Wisconsin, the Sikh congregation is preparing to reopen the temple on Friday for a ceremony to honor those killed in Sunday's attack. CBS reported that workers are currently cleaning up the blood stains and patching the bullet holes in the temple walls.

The Sikh Society of Minnesota has sent out an invitation to the public as it honors the memory of those lost during the tragic attacks and prays for the swift recovery of those injured. The candlelight vigil begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Gurdwara Sahib, 9000 West Bloomington Freeway in Bloomington.
