Let's Talk History

All are invited at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, to the Burnsville Historical Society informal gathering. Coffee pot is on and cookies are ready! Location: 190 River Ridge Circle, Burnsville.

No agenda, no requirements, no cost. Just an informal gathering of
people who are interested in history and the Minnesota River Valley communities, including Burnsville. You don’t have to do anything – just come and let’s have some fun.

Special guest will be Lynn R. Gruber, the new executive director of the Dakota County Historical Society. She has bachelor degrees in English and journalism from the University of Minnesota and a degree in law from Hamline. She served 30 years in the health care industry, as the executive director of the Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association (a state-created non profit that provides a high-risk insurance pool for people turned away from other insurance due to a pre-existing condition). She also founded the Women’s Health Leadership Trust and the National Association of State Comprehensive Health Insurance Pools. Combining her management experience with her love of history, and her involvement with the Wayzata Historical Society, has brought her to her new leadership position in our county.

Come have a cup of coffee and share your stories and photos with Gruber and other members of the Burnsville Historical Society. Our archives will also be open for any questions.
