When do Burnsville Students Go Back To School?

Some schools and grade levels do not start on Sept. 3.

In the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District, most students will head back to school on Tuesday, Sept. 3. There are some exceptions, however.

At Nicollet Junior High School, only 7th grade students will start school on Sept. 3, according to a news release from the school district. It will give students time to adjust to the school before all students return on Sept. 4.

Burnsville High School 10th grade students will have the school to themselves on Sept. 3 while they participate in orientation. All students return to the high school on Sept. 4.

Kindergarten students will meet their teachers individually on Sept. 3 and 4. The schools are setting up the thirty-minute appointments. The first day of school for kindergarten students is Thursday, Sept. 5.

Students who are new to the district can register for school at the district's Welcome Center, lower level, Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Parkway. Contact the Welcome Center by phone at 952-707-4180 or by e-mail at welcomecenter@burnsville.k12.mn.us.

Parents are encouraged to register for SchoolView, the district's online parent portal, to update their emergency contact information, pay for school meals, and monitor their child's attendance and academic performance. Parents can register by sending an email to schoolview@burnsville.k12.mn.us.
