Get Out, Burnsville: Christmas Galore and a 'Hard Rock Love Child'

Christmas is more than three weeks away, but Burnsville is already replete with holiday events.

Dakota County residents are invited to enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas at Heritage Village in Farmington — complete with a horse drawn trolley, homemade cooking in the Harris House, and live holiday music in the church from local choirs.

Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for kids aged 4 to 12. Children under 2 get in free. Christmas in the Village runs Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, call 651-460-8050.

4. Tantric with Eve to Adam, Man Made Machine and Underride

If you're already sick of yuletide cheer, Primetime Sports Bar and Grill has the antidote: A rock rager this Sunday. Headliner Tantric is best known for the single "Down and Out" a track off their 2008 album, "The End Begins." Over the last few years, the band has toured with major acts like Saliva and Drowning Pool and released a new album, Mind Control.

Tantric will be joined by three other out-of-state acts, Eve to Adam, Man Made Machine, and Underride, a Seattle group which describes its sounds as "a hard rock love child conceived on the "hot hood of a nitro-burning funny car."

The show is 18 plus. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets cost $13 each.

5. The 25thAnnual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The show will be performed in the BPAC's Black Box Theatre. On Friday and Saturday, the curtain will go up at 7:30 p.m. There will also be an afternoon performance on Sunday starting at 2:00 p.m.
