Original post, 10:40 a.m., June 12: Significant lane closures are coming to I-35E this weekend, between the I-35 split and Cedar Avenue, as part of a road improvement project that will also update pedestrian crossings to meet ADA standards.

At 7 p.m. Friday, southbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane, from the I-35 split to Cedar Avenue. Later, at midnight, northbound I-35E will also be reduced to a single lane, and both directions of the highway will be moved to the southbound side of the road.

Single-lane traffic will remain on I-35E through mid-July.

Additionally, northbound I-35E ramps at County Road 11 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday through July 1.

All businesses and residences should remain accessible throughout the project, according to MnDOT, and no two adjacent intersections will be closed simultaneously.
