Sign of the Cross: A Guide to Ash Wednesday in Burnsville

1. Episcopal Church of the Nativity: Ring in the Lenten season the High Church way, with Rev. Canon Denis O'Pray. There will be three Ash Wednesday services, the first at 7:00 a.m. followed by another at noon and a final service at 7:00 p.m.
2. Church of the Risen Savior: Ash Wednesday services begin at 7:00 a.m. with Marilyn Lyden, Mass with ashes at 9:00 a.m. with Father Tom Krenik, 12:00 p.m. with Dale O'Brien, 6:30 p.m. with Father Krenik and Mass with Ashes (Spanish), 8:00 p.m. with Father Stefan Kappler.
3. Mary, Mother of the Church: Ash Wednesday services begin at 6:30 a.m. followed by a mid-morning mass at 9:00 a.m. and a final service at 7:00 p.m.

4. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church: For this large congregation, Ash Wednesday begins at noon with a classic service with traditional organ music and hymns, a family-friendly service at 5:30 p.m. and a final services at 7:00 p.m. led by the middle school and senior high ministry teams.
5. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: This church will hold two Ash Wednesday services at 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Good Shepherd is also hosting a Lenten Supper at 5:30 p.m.

6. St. James Lutheran: St. James will be hosting two Ash Wednesday services — one at 10:00 a.m. and another at 7:30 p.m.
7. Lutheran Church of the Ascension: This church will hold only one Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m.
8. Faith Covenant Church: This Evangelical Covenant Church is hosting one Ash Wednesday services at 6:30 p.m.
9. Grace Methodist: Grace Methodist will kick the Lenten season off with one Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m.
10. River Hills United Methodist: River Hills will host one Ash Wednesday service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
