New Features on Burnsville Patch: Traffic, Gas Prices and Photo Gallery

Those with sharp eyes may have noticed a few new things on Burnsville Patch's main page. We have unveiled two new features as a part of our quest to make Burnsville Patch both as useful and user-friendly as possible.

This week, our new features include a Traffic & Gas tab and Your Neighborhood Gallery.

Click on the Traffic & Gas tab in the navigation bar at the top of the site and you can consult a real time traffic map complete with incident reports and construction notices. With this map, powered by Mapquest, you can also find the lowest gas prices in town.

Your Neighborhood Gallery

Ready, set, upload! You can now upload random photos and videos straight to Patch without an article already existing on the topic.

A mob for egg nog at the grocery store? A group of preschoolers in Santa hats made the cutest carolers ever? You have the cutest baby, pet, spouse in the world?  Simply click the "Add to Neighborhood Gallery" button located near the top right of our homepage, and upload.

Easy!

Traffic & Gas Tab

Those of you who have been with us since the early days of Burnsville Patch (April and May of 2011) may remember the "Burnsville Gas Gauge" — a daily post that came out in the wee hours that listed the 10 cheapest gas stations in town. Well, now we have something even better: The Traffic & Gas tab. As an added bonus, I no longer have to get up at 5:00 a.m. to manually enter this information myself and it is constantly updated, minute by minute.
