Intersection at County Road 5/Highway 13 to Become Scene of Fire Dept. Training

Over the next two weeks, the intersection will be subject to drilling fire squads, in addition to several closures for construction.

Beginning Sunday, April 28, drivers may notice something odd going on near the County Road 5 and Highway 13.

Over the next two weeks, a collection of fire trucks and ambulances will be in the area for fire department training. The department is taking advantage of several buildings fronting the road, which are scheduled for demolition in advance of a major overhaul of the interchange. In the interim, Burnsville Fire, Ames Construction and Minnesota Dirt Works, will use the empty to practice a variety of tactical skills. No actual fire will be used as part of the training.
