I-35E, County Road 42 Road Work To Delay Traffic
The County Road 42 ramp closure will take place this weekend.
Burnsville drivers will soon encounter a ramp closure and lane changes that will impact County Road 42 and Interstate 35E.
County Road 42
Starting Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. the County Road 42 ramp to northbound I-35E will close, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced in a news release. The ramp will be closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 22.
The County Road 42 ramp closure is part of the I-35E project. A few of the purposes of the project is to make concrete repairs, extend the life of the road, and repair bridges.
Interstate 35E
The lane shifts on I-35E originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 17 have now been rescheduled to Thursday, July 25, MnDOT said.
All traffic on I-35E between Cedar Avenue and Diffley Road will shift to the southbound side of the road. The single lane head to head traffic will be in effect up to the I-35/35W/35E split.
MnDOT suggests that drivers follow signed detours.
Reminders:
- County Road 11 access on southbound I-35E is closed until July 22.
- McAndrews Road Bridge remains closed until July 24.
- Roadwork continues on Highway 13. The project is scheduled to finish in 2015.
