I-35 Reduces to Single Lane Starting Sept. 3

Drivers in Burnsville headed in that direction should expect delays and find alternate routes, MnDOT suggests.

Both directions of Interstate 35 between County Road 50 and County Road 2 will soon be reduced to one lane. Motorists should expect delays, said the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The lane closures will begin at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Northbound and southbound traffic will move to the same side of the road. 

In addition to temporary ramp closures during the project, the following ramps will also close:

  • County Road 60/185th Street to northbound I-35: Suggested detour is the County Road 50 ramp
  • Northbound I-35 ramp to County Road 50: Suggested detour is County Road 60/185th Street.

MnDOT advises motorists to find alternate routes and use the detours to help minimize delays.
