Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Memorial Day Weekend

There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms through the weekend and beyond.

A chance of rain is prevalent in the Memorial Day weekend forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Burnsville, Shakopee and the surrounding area for the weekend, as there is a threat of thunderstorms through the weekend and beyond.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MINNESOTA...EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA...SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA...SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST WISCONSIN AND WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT. NO SEVERE WEATHER IS EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE PERIOD. THE THREAT FOR SEVERE STORMS IS LOW AT THIS TIME FOR SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY...WITH INCREASING CHANCES FOR SEVERE STORMS FROM TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

Here is the forecast from the weather service for the next several days:

Saturday—Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1pm, then a slight chance of showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 59. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night—A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 49. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday—A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 60. East southeast wind around 15 mph.

Sunday Night—A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 53. East southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Memorial Day—A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. East southeast wind around 10 mph.

Monday Night—Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a low around 59. East southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
