Fog, Ice Hazards on the Way

The National Weather S ervice in Chanhassen has issued an alert, warning drivers to take care of thick fog which is expected to envelop the Twin Cities region between tonight and tomorrow afternoon. A cold snap will follow quick on the heels of the fog, bringing with it ice, snow and wind chills well below zero.

The agency issued a dense fog advisory earlier this afternoon. It will be in effect from 3 a.m. until noon on Friday. Forecasters say visibility could be reduced to a quarter mile or less. Residents are also warned to be wary of slick spots on the road and sidewalk, as pockets of low temperature may result in pockets of freezing fog.

In Burnsville, rain is expected tonight, with a low of 34. Drizzle should continue into Friday, with the possibility of more fog, with snow and winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour on Friday night.
