The storm on Tuesday evening brought two-inch hail to Burnsville, according to the National Weather Service. It also knocked out power for thousands in the Twin Cities.

The Xcel Energy Power Outage Map lists almost three dozen in Burnsville without power. Power is estimated to be restored by 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Dakota Electric reported 4,000 power outages in the area it serves, all of whom had power restored by 4:10 a.m.

On Wednesday morning, some Burnsville residents began obtaining estimates for hail damage to their cars.

Hail pelted the lot at Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting, but the shop had only made one estimate by 9 a.m. Wednesday.

LaMettry's Collision had already seen five cars, said Shawn Clough, shop manager, but the company has seen many more estimates in Eden Prairie.
