Dispose of Hazardous Waste in Dakota County

The county is hosting two collection days in September.

Dakota County will collect batteries, aerosols, oil, pesticides and paint thinner for two days in September.

The hazardous waste collection days will be:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Farmington Maintenance Facility, 19650 Municipal Drive.
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Burnsville Maintenance Facility, 13713 Frontier Court.

The collection days are open to any Dakota County resident.


The county's website has a complete list of items that can be dropped off on either day. Electronics and small household electronics will be accepted, as well.
