I-35W Northbound Closing: Expect Traffic Delays in Burnsville This Weekend
The Minnesota Department of Transportation warns of "major traffic impacts" this weekend due to multiple construction projects in the Twin Cities.
A portion of northbound I-35W will close this weekend as crews paint bridges that span the roadway.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Friday northbound I-35W between the I-35/35W/35E split and Highway 13 will close. The highway will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
The following ramps to and from northbound I-35W will also close: County Road 42, Burnsville Parkway and Highway 13.
The signed detour uses I-35E, Highway 77 and I-494.
Southbound I-35 between the I-35/35W/35E split and County Road 50 will be reduced to one lane this weekend. Last week's closure of the northbound side caused major traffic delays.
Ramps to and from southbound I-35 to County Road 46 will also close. Ramps and lanes will reopen by 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
