Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson will discuss her New York Times bestseller, “The Warmth of Other Suns”, Tuesday, June 27, 7–8 p.m., at the Galaxie Library, 14955 Galaxie Avenue, Apple Valley.

The event is free. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 45 minutes in advance of program. Books will be available for sale and signing.

From World War I to the 1970s, six million black Americans left the south for an uncertain future in the north and west. Their leaving became known as the Great Migration.

The book, about three people leaving all they knew during the Great Migration, was one of five picked by President Obama for his summer 2011 vacation.

This event is provided by MELSA’s Club Book which is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Art and Cultural Heritage Fund.
