Wind Damage, Power Outages Reported in Burnsville

Late-night storm rips through southern Twin Cities metropolitan area.

A powerful late-night storm has ripped through Burnsville, reportedly causing wind damage and power outages.

At 12:30 a.m. Monday, this is what Patch knows:

• Burnsville and the rest of northern Dakota County are under a severe thunderstorm watch and flood advisory until 2 a.m.

• Xcel Energy’s website is reporting power outages affecting roughly 2,700 customers in Burnsville. Nearly all of the outages at this time are east of Interstate 35W and south of Highway 13.

• A tweet from Minnesota Public Radio, citing public reports, says wind damage was reported in Burnsville shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
