What's Closed on Monday, Sept. 5:

Burnsville City Hall Northern Dakota County Service Center and all Dakota County libraries, including Burnhaven Library.

The United States Postal Service is closed in observation of Labor Day so there is no mail delivery.

Wells Fargo Bank, 100 West Burnsville Parkway, is closed on Labor Day. The U.S. Federal Credit Union at 1400 Riverwood Drive will also be closed.

What's Open        

All local major retailers and supermarkets will be open on Labor Day including Cub Foods, Walgreens, Rainbow Foods, Super Target, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Menards and Home Depot.   

The Burnsville Center will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., though the hours for department stores and on-site restaurants may vary. The Paragon Odyssey 15 will be open for Labor Day movie enthusiasts.    

Last Chance...

Schulze Lake Beach at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan will be open for the last day of the season on Labor Day from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Labor Day is the last day of the Minnesota State Fair. It's Kids Day, so admission for kids ages 5-12 is $7. Kids under 5 get in free.  The Fair closes at 10 p.m. on Monday - note that the animal barns close at 5 p.m. on the last day.

The first day of school for most public schools in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District is Tuesday, Sept. 4. There are exceptions, notably Burnsville High School and Nicollet Junior High.    

At Nicollet Junior High School, only 7th grade students will attend school on Sept. 4 so they can get acclimated to their new school. All students at Nicollet will attend beginning on Sept. 5. 

Similarly, at Burnsville High School only 10th grade students will attend on Sept. 4 and be involved in orientation activities all day. Then on Sept. 5, all high school students will attend. 

All kindergarten students start school on Thursday, Sept. 6.
