Put Out the Bonfire: Burnsville in High-Risk Zone

Minnesota DNR says drought conditions affect all of Dakota County.

Put out those backyard bonfires.

Yes, that was a bit of rain we saw this morning, but it'll take more than a bit of rain to overcome the exceptionally dry conditions witnessed throughout the area in recent months.

In fact, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has moved all of Dakota County into the high risk zone due to very dry and windy conditions that would allow fires to start easily, spread quickly, and burn intensely.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

Dry conditions are expected through Saturday. Burnsville Patch will follow up with more information.
